BACOLOD CITY – Police discovered a man hogtied with a black cable tie on a cliff at Purok Cobra, Barangay Igmaya-an, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental last Saturday.

Police Captain Ignacio Javier, deputy chief of the Don Salvador Benedicto Municipal Police Station, identified the victim as Allen Palmos, 29, a local dispatcher from Fortune Towne. Palmos was found with his head wrapped in a t-shirt by a minor collecting wood in the area that morning.

Due to the advanced state of decomposition, Javier noted they could not ascertain the victim’s injuries at the scene. The victim was later positively identified by his older sister on Saturday night.

Palmos’s sister reported that he had left their home on March 7 and had contacted them on the morning of March 8, Javier recounted.

The family became aware of Palmos’s death through social media, recognizing his tattoo and the clothes he wore the last time they saw him alive.

While the family has requested privacy during this difficult time, limiting further information, Javier assured the public that the police are actively investigating the incident to uncover the circumstances surrounding Palmos’s death.
