A 34-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly attacked his two older brothers early morning of August 7, 2023 in Tigbauan, Iloilo.

Police identified the suspect as Robert Lee Taras, a farmer and resident of Barangay Cordova Norte, Tigbauan, Iloilo.

Robert allegedly hacked Raymond Taras, 43, also a farmer from Barosong village in Tigbauan town and bit the ear of his other brother Romel Taras, 41, a resident of Barangay Nagba, Tigbauan.

Captain Mary Jane Panes, Tigbauan police chief, said the three brothers and some of their relatives were on a drinking spree at a store in Cordova Norte when the incident happened.

Both drunk, Robert and Romel figured in a verbal tussle.

The two then engaged in grappling until some relatives pacified them.

But it was just momentary as Robert went out of the store and took a bolo. He went back and hacked Raymond in the neck.

When Romel tried to take away the bolo, Robert bit his left ear.

Both victims were rushed to Rep. Pedro G. Trono Memorial Hospital in Guimbal town.

Panes said they are both in stable condition.

Both victims have also decided not to pursue a case against their younger brother.
