A 26-year old man was arrested again for alleged illegal drug peddling evening of July 22 at Molo, Iloilo City.

Police identified the suspect as 26-year old Joseph Angelo Bayag who was arrested at his house in Barangay Compania Central around 9:35 p.m. of Wednesday.

Members of Iloilo City Police Station 5 collared Bayag after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P1,500.

Police Major Marlon Valencia, Mandurriao police chief, said they started monitoring Bayag after they received reports that he was trading shabu in Mandurriao district.

Bayag initially agreed to meet the undercover operatives at Barangay Tabucan, Mandurriao.

But at the last minute before their meeting, the suspect told the police poseur-buyer to get the shabu at his home.

Right after his arrest, police recovered 11 sachets of suspected shabu worth P15,000 from Bayag’s possession.

Police records indicated that the suspect was also arrested in 2016 for the same offense.

Bayag will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Meanwhile, police operatives also nabbed Romeo Catilo, 26, of Barangay Compania Central, after he allegedly meddled in the suspect’s arrest.

He will be charged for obstruction of justice.
