A man accused of murdering a farmer over a land dispute was arrested morning of July 5, 2021 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.

Nicolas Ternura, 56, was nabbed at his house in Sitio Balabag, Barangay San Fernando, Barotac Viejo.

Members of Barotac Viejo Police Station and the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company served to Ternura an arrest warrant for murder docketed as Criminal Case No. 2021-9804.

Assisting Judge Jose Mauricio E Gomez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 71 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, issued the arrest warrant May 26, 2021with no bail.

Ternura is Barotac Viejo’s third most wanted person.

Major Kenn Albert Lepsia, Barotac Viejo police chief, said Ternura is one of the four suspects in the killing of Jerry Agramon on November 20, 2019 in Barotac Viejo.

The two other accused were arrested last year while the gunman, Ternura’s brother Roger, remains at large.

The incident also wounded another farmer.

Earlier police reports claimed that Agramon was at the farm with several other farmers when the suspects arrived.

Roger Ternura immediately shot Agramon and fled after the incident.

Roger Ternura and Agramon had grudges that stemmed from a land dispute.

Reports said that the gunman used to own the land while Agramon was a tenant.
