A 32-year-old man remains at large after allegedly killing his uncle in a gun attack afternoon of June 14 in Dumangas, Iloilo.

Police identified the suspect as Arnel Dellomes, a resident of Barangay Bolilao, Dumangas, where the incident happened.

Dellomes allegedly shot his uncle, 40-year-old Crisanto Dagum, following a verbal tussle.

Police reports indicated that the victim was driving his motorcycle and stopped in front of the house of a certain Ofella Arroyo.

At that time, Dellomes was in the vicinity. An altercation then ensued between the duo.

Shortly later, Dagum left on board his motorcycle but the suspect tailed him.

Witnesses claimed that Dellomes was already armed with a handgun. He then repeatedly shot the victim.

Dagum was hit on his left arm and head.

He was rushed to Ramon Duremdes District Hospital in Dumangas town but was declared dead on arrival.

Dellomes fled after the incident.

Major Kenn Albert Lepsia, Dumangas police chief, said old grudges may have triggered the killing.

Dagum once elevated their misunderstanding to the barangay lupon but it was not resolved.

Meanwhile, Lepsia said that the victim’s family is inclined on filing criminal charges against Dellomes.
