ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police on Sunday afternoon arrested a 30-year-old person who was wanted for alleged illegal drug pushing.
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-Capiz) and the Roxas City Police Station nabbed John Mark Hervias of Brgy. Lawaan here.
The warrant for his arrest was issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Ignacio Alajar on Sept 15, 2020 for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Hervias is presently detained at the Roxas City police station.
Hervias is a son of former Traffic Management Unit (TMU) head and a retired police officer Junie June Hervias.
He was arrested two years ago in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Lawaan.
Elements of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit led by then Senior Inspector Hilbert Gervero caught the suspect after he sold suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P1,000.
Recovered from Hervias’ possession were 14 sachets of suspected shabu, a .38-caliber revolver loaded with five bullets and drug paraphernalia.
Junie June said he did not tolerate the drug activities of his son.
Siguro wala man sang ginikanan nga gusto maglain ang iya kabataan.
Gervero said they already got the names of individuals who supply Hervias with shabu.
