A 68-year-old man facing sexual assault charges was arrested afternoon of Feb. 5.

Authorities traced Lino, a resident of Barangay Inzo Arnaldo Village, Roxas City, Capiz, to Barangay Salcedo, Dumarao town.

Members of the Roxas City Police Station, together with the Dumaras Municipal Police Station, collared the suspect by virtue of an arrest warrant for two counts of sexual assault (Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code) in relation to Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act) docketed under Criminal Case Numbers C-380-23 and C-381-23.

Judge Eric Anthony A. Dumpilo of the 6th Regional Trial Court Branch 14, Roxas City issued the warrant on June 21, 2023.

No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

Lieutenant Colonel Francisco Paguia, Roxas City police chief, said alias Lino is the second most wanted person in Roxas City.

Police have been tracking the suspect for months already following the issuance of his arrest warrant.

The complainant was allegedly the suspect’s neighbor.

The two camps initially had talks at the barangay level but no settlement was reached.

The victim’s family eventually filed a case in court.

Alias Lino is now detained and will be turned over to the court concerned.
