Moises Padilla closes down borders with La Castellana

Bacolod City – Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo of Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental said Wednesday that she ordered the closure of all borders with neighbor La Castellana starting April 21, 2020.

Yulo said they has also banned all La Castellana resident from entering Moises Padilla.

This after a resident of Barangay Nato, La Castellana town tested positive for coronavirus 2019 (COVID- 19) Monday night.

Yulo said aside that from the main checkup point at the highway boundary of La Castellana and Moises Padilla, eight checkup points were also set up in the internal boundaries of both towns.

Yulo said they will only allow La Castellana residents who will pass through Moises Padilla to another destination.

The mayor said Moises Padilla has no more suspected or probable cases while 207 of the 214 Persons Under Monitoring have completed their 14-day quarantine.

She reiterated that the local government has increased the number of security personnel to man entry points.

Barangay police and Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams are stationed at access roads and checkup points, Yulo said.

She added that all non-residents entering the town will also be required to fill out health declaration forms as part of contact tracing measures.
