More capitol employees infected with COVID-19

BACOLOD City – The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has infected 19 workers of the Negros Occidental provincial government.

This, after five more capitol employees tested positive on Thursday.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the new cases were three more employees of the Bids and Awards Committee office, a Provincial Veterinary Office employee (the mother of another BAC employee who also tested positive), and a Provincial Health Office casual employee.

The provincial Capitol was locked down Wednesday following the surge in COVID-19 cases among its employees since Monday until Sunday.

It is expected to resume office on Aug 16, 2020.

Data from provincial Inter-Agency Task Force Against COVID-19 indicated that  Bago City has 59 cases followed by Sagay City with 46, Cadiz City – 40, Silay City – 39, Himamaylan City – 36, Kabankalan City – 35, Calatrava – 31, San Carlos City – 30, Talisay City – 30, Binalbagan – 26, Victorias City – 26, La Carlota City – 25, Escalante City – 24;

Sipalay City – 24, Cauayan – 22, Manapla – 22, Hinigaran – 22, Hinoba-an – 20, La Castellana – 20, Murcia – 20, EB Magalona – 19, Valladolid – 17, Toboso – 15, Moises Padilla – 14, Pulupandan – 13, Isabela – 11, Ilog – 8, Pontevedra – 8, San Enrique – 7, Candoni – 4, and Salvador Benedicto – 2.
