Janneth Dela Cruz, a 50-year-old cook and baker from Brgy. Mansaya, Lapuz, Iloilo, was moved to tears when the MORE Power team surprised her at her home early Friday morning. As the 100,000th customer of MORE Power, Iloilo City’s sole power distributor, she received an unexpected gift package to mark the occasion.
Led by Ms. Ma. Cristina Cabalhin, Vice President for Customer Care and Marketing, the MORE Power the team personally delivered various appliances to Janneth’s home, including an oven, dough mixer, rice cooker, electric fan, and washing machine. She also received groceries, baking supplies, gift certificates, and cash to assist with home repairs and her livelihood.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Janneth expressed her gratitude, saying, “Maraming-maraming salamat po, sa dami po namin, ako pa po yung napili. Salamat talaga, MORE Power. Salamat din po kay President Sir Roel Castro. Thank you po talaga sa staff ng MORE at ako ang napili ninyo.”
Cabalhin, during the event, said, “Ma’am, you are our 100,000th customer. We wanted to celebrate this milestone with you.”
Janneth’s mother, Simonia Gioneo, was equally emotional, acknowledging her daughter’s hard work in supporting their family through cooking and baking. “Siya lang na gabaka-baka ubra, tatlo man lang kabataan ya. Madamo gid nga salamat sa MORE Power ilabi na gid sa ila staff, ilabi na gid sa nagdul-ong.”
MORE Power has seen remarkable growth since it took over as Iloilo City’s distribution utility in February 2020, expanding its customer base from 62,000 to 100,000 in just over four years. This reflects a cumulative growth rate of 59.8%, driven by the company’s customer-centric initiatives like the MORE Konek Program.
