MORE Power Leads Mangrove Planting Drive

On November 5, 2024, MORE Power conducted a successful mangrove planting and coastal cleanup event at Barangay Hinactacan in partnership with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) and Barangay Hinactacan officials.

The initiative involved planting 200 mangrove saplings to strengthen coastal protection and promote sustainability in Iloilo City.

This event highlighted MORE Power’s strong commitment to environmental stewardship. Employee volunteers and members of MORE Power’s Guardians of the Environment arrived early and participated actively, showcasing the company’s dedication to restoring coastal ecosystems and raising awareness about the vital role of mangroves in mitigating climate change.

Ms. Maricris Cabalhin, Vice President for Customer Care and Corporate Affairs, underscored the significance of the initiative.

“This mangrove planting is part of our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and reflects our integrated approach to create a cleaner, greener Iloilo City. By investing in these green initiatives, we are demonstrating our dedication to being responsible stewards of the environment.”

MORE Power’s green initiatives extend beyond symbolic efforts, representing a long-term dedication to sustainable practices that benefit Iloilo City.

The company integrates these efforts into its corporate social responsibility, aiming to create a sustainable city for future generations.

To date, MORE Power has planted 1,027 mangroves and 9,450 trees, contributing to its goal of planting 10,000 trees and mangroves over five years.

This event is part of a broader strategy to engage the community on environmental issues, illustrating that such efforts are vital for both the community and the environment. MORE Power continues to foster an environmentally conscious and sustainable community through programs such as urban gardening and aquatic life restoration projects.

By consistently investing in these initiatives, MORE Power aims to ensure that Iloilo City serves as a model of sustainability and resilience against climate change, securing a healthier environment for future generations.
