BACOLOD CITY – Central Negros Electric Cooperative/Negros Electric and Power Corporation (Ceneco/NEPC) in Central Negros and MORE Power in Iloilo City are offering the lowest electricity rates in the Western Visayas and Negros Island Region for September 2024.

Jonathan Cabrera, Ceneco/NEPC spokesperson, announced Tuesday that despite an increase in generation charges, Ceneco/NEPC’s total residential rate for September remains at PHP11.70/kWh.

“While other electric cooperatives have raised their total residential rates due to increased generation and transmission charges passed on to consumers, Ceneco/NEPC has maintained stability,” Cabrera said.

He noted that there were no changes to the distribution charge, which is allocated to the electric distribution utilities.

“As a distribution utility, our charge remains unchanged. Generation charges make up a large part of our total electricity rates, and we are committed to securing competitive prices to deliver affordable rates to consumers,” Cabrera added.

Meanwhile, Cabrera also highlighted MORE Power’s efficiency in power procurement, allowing it to continue offering the lowest electricity rates in Panay and Guimaras islands.

MORE Power’s residential rate for September is PHP12.61/kWh, down by PHP0.04/kWh compared to the previous month.

The utility also has the lowest generation charge this month, at PHP6.76/kWh.

MORE Power and Ceneco/NEPC are all under the group of ports and utilities tycoon Enrique Razon.
