BACOLOD CITY— The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Bacolod has arrested a 61-year-old woman for allegedly practicing dentistry illegally in an entrapment operation conducted last Wednesday in Barangay 2, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
The woman is accused of violating Republic Act 9484, also known as The Philippine Dental Act of 2007, which regulates the practice of dentistry, dental hygiene, and dental technology in the Philippines, according to the NBI.
Authorities seized a dental chair and other equipment from her clinic during the operation.
The Philippine Dental Association (PDA) Negros Occidental Chapter, Inc. had requested investigative assistance from the NBI to curb the proliferation of illegal dental practices in the province, based on information provided by the PDA national office.
The NBI warned that others who continue to commit the same offense will also be arrested.
