There will be no National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) this year.

The NCAA committee finally announced their final decision after months of thorough deliberation, initially planning to push through with the season this November.

Aside from moving NCAA Season 96 to 2021, the collegiate association will limit their events to just four mandatory sports.

Basketball, volleyball, swimming, and track and field are the only sporting events that will remain and push through in Season 96 while other online sport formats are still under discussion.

In the NCAA board’s past meeting, they are currently reviewing the proposal of including online sports such as E-chess and E-sports for Season 96.

Amid the ongoing pandemic, the online platform has remained a strong substitute as it allows for physical distancing and limited movement.

“It remains the NCAA’s top priority to ensure the safety and health of our student-athletes, coaches and trainers, and the general viewing public,” the statement read.
