BACCOLOD City – Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson is on self-isolation starting Tuesday after he was exposed to an officer of the Department of Interior and Local Government from Iloilo who tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz told reporters Tuesday that Lacson handed a certificate to the DILG officer during the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Summit held in the province Friday.
Diaz said that the governor and 18 personnel of the DILG-Negros Occidental will undergo RT-PCR test today.
Some of them will be on isolation at the Mambukal Resort while waiting for the result.
Meanwhile, Talisay City Mayor Neil E. Lizares on Tuesday ordered the strict reimposition of guidelines on residents of Talisay City due to the recent spike of COVID-19 cases.
Lizares said that last January 24, 2021, Talisay City Heath Office recorded 10 active cases.
To prevent another surge in COVID-19 cases in the city, there should be strict compliance with guidelines and preventive measures for market-goers.
He said only those properly wearing face masks and face shields will be allowed entry inside the Talisay City Public Market.
No mask, no faceshield, no entry policy will be strictly implemented.
CURFEW HOURS, which start from 9PM until 4AM, will be strictly imposed and only 150 persons shall be allowed inside the public market at a time.
Effective January 31, 2021 the public market will be CLOSED at 2pm every SUNDAY for disinfection and those violators will be apprehended and penalized.
