BACOLOD City – Police Colonel Romy Palgue, director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), apologized for the shortcomings of the police force.
This, after a member of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) was accused of allegedly molesting the 12-year-old daughter of his live-in partner in Cadiz City last week.
The incident happened while the victim was sleeping in her room.
The suspect and the victim’s mother have been together for three years now, according to the victim’s aunt.
“Pasensya na po kung lumalabas na may pagkukulang ang police,” Palgue said in a virtual press briefing yesterday.
Palgue said the policeman, whose name was withheld, was already charged for rape, and is detained at Cadiz City Police Station.
However, Palgue said the police officer can post a bail for his offense.
Palgue said that intensified cleanliness among their ranks is ongoing to prevent this from happening again.
