NINE VISAYAN TEENS VIE FOR MISS TEEN PHILIPPINES CROWN

Hailing from different parts of Visayas, 9 aspiring teens will fly to Manila to compete for the title of Miss Teen Philippines 2019.

A total of 63 aspirants flocked to SM City Cebu last March 2, after which only 24 young beauty queens passed the screening process.

During the pre-qualifying round, the 24 candidates presented the different ways to wear the Hablon scarf from the Hablon de Cebu of Argao.

According to Cebuano fashion designer, Dexter Alazas, regional coordinator for Miss Teen Philippines Central Visayas, This is part of our advocacy which is promoting the local industry.

From the 24 candidates, only 9 remained after the pre-qualifying round which happened on March 17 at SM Seaside City, Cebu.

The 3 Western Visayas representatives are: Regine Claude Romero (Iloilo City) a consistent honor student and reading advocate; Patricia Lynn Beerda (Iloilo City) who spent her summer in the Netherlands as a working student; Joanna Kalkschmidt (Roxas City, Capiz) a half-German, half-Filipina who dreams of circumnavigating the world.

Joining the representatives from Western Visayas are the candidates from Central Visayas: Leigh Chanelle Ong (Alcoy City, Cebu) who was a Honor Guards Unit Corps Commander prior to joining the pageant; Karla Marie Frances Niere (Consolacion City, Cebu) dancer, guitar player, book-lover, and volleyball player; Kaylah Sanchez (Compostela City, Cebu) a dreamer and nature-lover, she also loves to read books; Olive May Sophia Bihag (Liloan City, Cebu) an aspiring actress, she is also passionate about dancing and reading; Nicole Yance Borromeo (Carcar City, Cebu) she loves the arts and frequently writes and draws; and Kathyrenekaye Rollins (Argao City, Cebu) who loves to read, write, sing, and watch films.

On May 8, 2019 at the New Frontier Theatre, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City, these 9 hopeful beauty queens will compete against 23 other candidates from all over the country.

The winner of Miss Teen Philippines 2019 will become a youth ambassador and will bring home P300,000 pesos cash prize.

On May 19, an official airing of the full pageant will be shown on ABS-CBN (Ch.2) at 10:30 PM.
