BACOLOD City – The Leonardo Panaligan Command-New People’s Army (LPC-NPA) Central Negros Guerrilla Front has claimed the killing of a “military asset” in Barangay Aya, La Libertad, Negros Oriental last Monday.
In a statement dated August 22, Ka JB Regalado, LPC-NPA spokesperson, said that Levy Sanoy of the said village had been warned last year, but he reportedly “continued his actions against the people and the revolutionary movement.”
Regalado said that the victim allegedly organized a group composed of force multipliers of the police and the Army to fight against insurgency.
The rebel group also alleged that the victim threatened some civilians in the area.
Based on police investigation, unidentified armed men shot the victim inside his house.
He died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the police.
