BACOLOD City – An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was stabbed to death by her live-in partner out of jealousy at Purok 3, Barangay 2 in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental last Monday.
Police identified the victim as Enelisa Petua, 30, of the said village.
The victim was in the province for about a month now after working as a domestic helper in the Middle East.
Police Major James Latayon, city police chief, said the suspect identified as Jhondad Sase, 33, of Barangay 5 went to the victim’s boarding house to confront her about her foreigner chatmate.
Sase then asked Petua to choose between him and her chatmate.
But Sase got mad when the victim chose her chatmate over him, prompting him to repeatedly stab her which led to her death.
“Na selos siya siguro,” Latayon said. The couple has two children.
The suspect was later arrested by police and will be facing appropriate charges.
