One of the Filipino Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) living legends will mark his comeback in ONE Fighting Championship this November 19, 2022 to be held in Singapore.
Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon, ONE FC’s former bantamweight world champion, will be returning to Asia’s biggest MMA stage after one year of hiatus.
The Team Lakay superstar is seeking to redeem himself after a disappointing four-fight losing streak he suffered from 2019-2021.
Belingon will be tasked to take down Kim Jae Woong who is also trying to snap his losing streak after dropping his last two fights with the latest coming at the hands of Shamil Gasanov.
The Filipino fighter is eager to put his name back on the pedestal of the bantamweight division and was one of the few MMA practitioners who defeated Bibiano Fernandes.
Belingon scored a split decision win over Fernandes last November 2018 to retain his bantamweight belt but lost it during their rematch after he was called for illegal elbows that resulted in a disqualification.
Both fighters then squared off for the third time to settle their rivalry last October 2019 but Fernandes got the better of Belingon via a rear-naked choke submission.
On the other hand, Kim, known as “The Fighting God”, also pulled off some huge victories in his MMA career at ONE FC.
Before losing his last two fights, Kim was catching up as a prime contender in the division after taking down Martin Nguyen and Tetsuya Yamada.
Belingon will attempt to improve his ONE FC record to 21 wins and nine losses and will be joining teammate Stephen Loman in the fight card.
