A total of 43, 548 students from the different elementary, Junior and Senior High Schools in the Province of Guimaras were given free miscellaneous fees.
The Provincial Government of Guimaras headed by Governor Samuel T. Gumarin turned over PHP3,654,139.00 under the Special Purpose Fund to the Boy Scout of the Philippines, Girl Scout of the Philippines and Philippine Red Cross fees for Guimaras public school students.
The ceremonial distribution of certificate of full payment and checks was held on January 7, 2021 at the Provincial Food Court, San Miguel Jordan, Guimaras.
Mr. Abraham Balibalos, Coordinator of Boy Scout of the Philippines (BSP) – Guimaras and Mr. Killeen Peñalber, Council Scout of BSP-Guimaras received the check amounting to PHP1,223,750.00.
There to accept the check for PHP1,288,529.00 were Girl Scout of the Philippines (GSP) Vice President for Field Dr. XZ Dignadice; Ms. Mariz Alimpungat, GSP Technical Assistant; and Ms. Arnen Tanaleon-Rivera, PhD, Education Program Specialist II, Coordinator of GSP Guimaras.
Further, Ms. Evelyn G. Garcia, Ms. Beverly G. Gando and Ms. Jennebell Omadle of the Philippine Red Cross received the allocated check amounting to Php1,141,860.00.
The said initiative of the Provincial Government of Guimaras has been implemented for the past seven years.
Moreover, Ms. Ma. Roselyn J. Palcat, Ed.D, CESO VI, ASDS and OIC Schools Division Superintendent of the Department of Education – Guimaras graced the ceremony with her presence.
