P1.2-M worth of ‘shabu’ seized, 30 nabbed

BACOLOD City – An estimated P1,240,416 worth of suspected shabu was seized and 30 persons were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations here and in various areas in Negros Occidental from July 14 to 19.

P1,061,416 worth of drugs was confiscated in the province and 22 persons were collared, while P179,000 worth of the said illegal drugs was seized in this city with eight individuals apprehended.

Over the weekend, buy-bust operations were conducted at Barangays 27, Taculing, and Banago here led by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Special Enforcement Team and personnel of Police Stations 6 and 3, respectively.

In the province, policemen conducted similar operations in the cities of Kabankalan, San Carlos, Bago, Himamaylan, Talisay, Silay, Cadiz, and Sagay, and the towns of Hinoba-an, Pontevedra, Calatrava, and Toboso.

PDEA-Negros Occidental had the biggest drug haul in the past six days, with the recovery of P408,000 worth of suspected shabu in Kabankalan City last Saturday.

Talisay City seized P350,000 worth of the same contraband last Friday, and Bacolod with P102,000 worth of suspected shabu at Barangay 27 last Saturday.

All arrested suspects will be facing drug charges.
