BACOLOD City – Around two kilos of suspected shabu worth P13,703,000 was seized by police from two persons in a buy-bust operation at Hacienda Sta.Ana, Barangay Palampas, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental yesterday.

Police identified the suspects as John Valentin Remegio, 34, of Lapaz, Iloilo City; and Crismark Blancaflor, 27, of Bingawan, Iloilo province. Both are tagged as alleged high value individuals, according to the police.

Police Major Ryan Villasario, deputy chief of San Carlos City Police Station, said the two suspects were monitored for two months after they received information about their alleged transactions of illegal drugs in Iloilo and Negros.

He said the suspects allegedly distribute illegal drugs here and in the province. He, however, could not elaborate further, pending the investigation on the two suspects.

Villasario said they are probing how the illegal drugs, sealed in a brown envelope and wrapped in plastic, were able to enter the province as the suspects have yet to divulge more information.

He also said that they are checking if the suspects have been staying here before the operation, or if they just arrived here yesterday.

Police also recovered from them the P10,000 marked money, and a car which the suspects claimed to be owned by someone.

He said that they will also check with Iloilo authorities the background of the suspects to determine if they have previous cases.

In a statement, Police Colonel Leo Pamittan, director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), commended the operating troops for the successful intelligence-driven operation.

“We continue to apprehend drug suspects and recover large volumes of drugs as proof of our relentless campaign to eradicate drugs in our community,” he said.
