BACOLOD City – A man is back behind bars after he was busted again with more than P100,000 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Palampas, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental last Tuesday.

Police identified the subject as Jofel Bacalla, 42, of Barangay 2, who allegedly yielded 24 grams of suspected shabu worth P164,356, and the P1,100 marked money.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jesus Mesahon, city police chief, said the suspect is a “street level individual,” as he was previously jailed for the same offense but was released late last year through plea bargaining.

Mesahon said they subjected him to monitoring after they found out that the suspect was the alleged source of illegal drugs of previously arrested drug suspects.

He said the suspect allegedly sourced out the illegal drugs in Cebu. In fact, the suspect just came from Cebu prior to his apprehension, the police chief added.

Charges for the sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs will be filed against Bacalla, according to Mesahon.
