Different police units of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 seized more than P210.572 million worth of shabu in almost nine months.
Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor, Western Visayas police chief, said in a press conference yesterday that 30.968 kilograms of shabu were recovered in 1,283 operations conducted from January 1 to September 23, 2023.
Also, 2.180 kilograms of marijuana valued at P210,600 were also seized in the same period.
On the other hand, 326 high value individuals (HVIs) and 1,287 street level pushers were arrested.
Villaflor noted that most of the big-time operations happened in the recent months under his tenure.
From January 1 to May 23, or before he assumed post, around 11.628 kilograms of shabu were seized with a standard price of P79 million.
Since May 24 to date, more than 19 kilos of shabu valued at P131 million have been seized.
âKami po ay humihingi ng suporta sa inyo kasi base po sa statistics tumataas ang mga nahuhuling suspects. Tumataas din ang nare-recover na illegal drugs,â Villaflor said.
He made the statement while assuring that PRO-6 is working 24/7 to curb the illegal drug trade in the region.
The regionâs top cop also encouraged other government agencies and the public to work and help them in their desire to rid the region of illegal drugs.
âHindi na po sakop ng aming mandato ang mangharang ng ilegal na droga sa dagat at himpapawid,â he said.
Villaflor also called on the public to report policemen who may be in cahoots with illegal drug traders.
