ROXAS CITY, Capiz – An estimated P442,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs was recovered from a student Sunday afternoon at Brgy. Cagay here.
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) arrested Prince Dave Doncillo, 21, of Sitio Bliss, Barangay Cagay here in a drug buy-bust operation conducted near his house.
Recovered from Doncillo were the P14,100 fake money, 13 sachets of suspected shabu and several drug paraphernalia.
But according to Doncillo, he was shocked when the police arrested him while he was having his snack in the area.
He denied owning the suspected illegal drugs and other recovered items.
Police Lt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca, RPDEU team leader, said the companion of Doncillo identified as Jocelyn Cabisilla and also a resident of said place escaped after sensing that she was dealing with an undercover police officer.
Darroca estimated the weight of the seized substance at 65 grams with market value of P442,000.
Doncillo is presently detained at the Roxas City Police Station while the seized item will be subjected for laboratory examination.
Charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002) are being readied against the suspect.
