P470,000 worth of ‘shabu’ seized

BACOLOD City – An estimated P470,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized in three separate buy-bust operations here and in Silay City, Negros Occidental from May 28 to 30.

Last Thursday, James Christopher Braga, 42, of Barangay 4, Silay City, was arrested at the said village for allegedly possessing 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P225,000; P3,000 boodle or fake money, P500 marked money, drug paraphernalia, and P512 cash.

The following day, Nelia Japitana, 44, of Barangay 2 here was arrested at Barangay 3, Silay City.

Police confiscated from Japitana five grams of suspected shabu worth P75,000, P1,000 boodle money, and P500 marked money.

Over the weekend, Eugene Sotto, a high value target, and Reynaldo Ponteras Jr., were arrested at Barangay Banago here last Saturday, while their companion managed to escape during the operation.

Operatives from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) seized during the operation the P500 marked money, and 13 sachets of suspected shabu worth P170,000. Both suspects are detained at Police Station 3.
