BACOLOD City – Seven persons were arrested following the confiscation of P538,560 worth of suspected shabu in separate anti-illegal drug operations here and in Negros Occidental on Thursday and Friday.
Of the amount, P422,960 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in the province, while P115,600 worth of the same contraband was seized here.
The biggest recovery was reported yesterday in E.B. Magalona town with 60 grams of suspected shabu worth P408,000 confiscated from Michael Bermejo, 34, of Barangay Nanca.
Police operatives raided Bermejo’s house through a search warrant. They also confiscated a grenade.
In Pontevedra town, two persons were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Don Salvador Benedicto after they allegedly yielded P4,760 worth of suspected shabu.
In Binalbagan town, a man was also arrested in a drug bust in Barangay San Pedro after police seized from him P6,800 worth of suspected shabu.
A young man was also apprehended in Barangay Zone 6, Cadiz City for the recovery of P3,400 worth of suspected shabu.
In Bacolod, Oscar Ogahayon, 44, of Barangay Villamonte here, who is said to be a high-value individual, was arrested in a drug bust after he allegedly yielded 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P102,000. He is detained at Police Station 4.
Another man was also arrested in a drug bust in Barangay 12 here after police confiscated from him two grams of suspected shabu worth P13,600. He is detained at Police Station 1.
