More than PHP 544,000 worth of shabu was found discarded along a roadside in Molo, Iloilo City.
According to police reports, a concerned citizen saw an unidentified person drop a red pouch along Zone 3, Barangay Compania Central, Molo, at around 9:48 p.m. on Feb. 6.
Growing suspicious, she picked up the pouch, opened it, and discovered several sachets of suspected shabu inside.
She immediately turned over the pouch to a female village official and an intelligence officer from Iloilo City Police Station 4, who lives nearby.
Upon inventory, the seized illegal drugs weighed approximately 80 grams, with an estimated street value of PHP 544,000.
Captain Ryan Christ Inot, chief of Iloilo City Police Station 4, said investigators are still determining who may have dropped the pouch.
“It’s possible that there was an illegal drug transaction in the area and the shabu may have fallen off accidentally,” he said.
Inot said the confiscated drugs will be turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 6 for further examination.
