ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 21-year-old man was stabbed to death by his father Thursday evening at Barangay Binuntucan in Pontevedra, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Sonny Boy Demo who suffered fatal stab wounds in the chest and foot inflicted by his father Nestor Demo, 59.
Investigation by Pontevedra police indicated that Sonny Boy went home drunk and challenged his father to a fight.
Nestor ignored his son, but the latter approached and pummelled him with a piece of wood.
The irate father took a knife in the kitchen and stabbed his son.
Sonny Boy died in Bailan District Hospital.
The suspect was arrested after medication for his injuries. He admitted stabbing his son.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Donabel Javero, Public Information Officer of Pontevedra PNP, the family will not press charges against the father because it was merely self defense and accidental.
