The 2019-2020 UST Growling Tigers magical squad is only a memory now.

After the unfortunate series of events regarding their illegal quarantine practice bubble in Sorsogon, the young and fierce team that looked to develop into a dynasty just fell apart in a few weeks.

Days after Brent Paraiso and Ira Bataller confirmed they will be leaving UST, sources said that the two are near to completing their transfer from España to Letran.

Both crucial parts of head coach Aldin Ayo’s championship run, Paraiso and Bataller will be missed by the Growling Tigers as they will be losing two tough and gritty swingmen.

Trying to save his basketball career, Paraiso bared that his UST exit was all about basketball because he still wants to play.

If UST will get suspended by the UAAP and the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases, Paraiso can no longer play because he only has one year of eligibility left in the league.

Meanwhile, if he successfully transfers to Letran, he will still have two more eligible playing years and can help defend the championship Fran Yu and Larry Muyang helped bring to the table for the Knights.

First to depart for the yellow and white is their former team captain, CJ Cansino, followed by Paraiso, Bataller, and superstar in the making Rhenz Abando.
