At least three criminal charges will be filed against the businessman involved in the hit-and-run incident in Pavia over the weekend.

Major Dadje Delima, Pavia police chief, stated that charges for murder, frustrated murder, and malicious mischief would be brought against the suspect, identified as alias Bobot.

The survivor identified him from a photo presented to her at the hospital.

The suspect reportedly owns a trucking services business.

Delima said they are waiting for the common-law wife of the deceased to recover before filing the case. They are also investigating the potential criminal liability of the driver’s two unidentified companions.

Police checked the suspect’s last known address in Calinog, Iloilo, but he was not found.

They also searched his condominium unit in Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, and his possible location at Deca Homes in Pavia town, but he was not seen at either place.

The incident, which resulted in the death of 33-year-old Rave, a call center agent, and the injury of his common-law wife, 23-year-old alias She, may not just be a case of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and serious physical injury.

The wife and another witness claimed that the driver of the silver BMW Z3 intentionally hit the couple.

According to reports, the victims were on their way to their rented house at Deca Homes in Barangay Balabag, Pavia, after leaving Barangay Oñate-de Leon, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

Around 9 p.m. on June 1, while they were on a bicycle navigating Barangay Pandac, Pavia, the sports car hit She’s leg.

Rave, who was driving the bicycle, confronted the car’s driver, asking him to be careful and go slow.

This reportedly angered the driver, who then made a U-turn and intentionally bumped them. The driver allegedly reversed and hit them again.

Reports indicated that She was not fatally wounded as Rave pushed her to safety.

Both sustained fractures on their legs, but Rave succumbed to head injuries.
