PBA commissioner Willie Marcial summoned Japeth Aguilar of Ginebra and Rain or Shine rookie Adrian Wong after videos of them participating in a 5-on-5 scrimmage went viral on social media.
With Metro Manila still under General Community Quarantine (GCQ), part of the guidelines issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases is the suspension of contact-sports and scrimmages until further notice.
Seen in the videos were Aguilar, Wong, together with first-overall pick Isaac Go and Japan-bound Thirdy Ravena.
Commissioner Marcial is planning to hear the side of all PBA players who participated in the scrimmage before deciding on what to do with them after they violated the guidelines.
The PBA is currently working hand-in-hand with the IATF regarding their proposal of a return to practice but no decision has been put out by the organization yet.
Moreover, the Department of Health (DOH) said that all the proposals passed by different sports organizations are still under thorough study and evaluation.
