After an astonishing PBA Commissioner’s Cup filled with dazzling imports such as Terrence Jones and Chris McCullough, the Philippine Basketball Association is back in action today with the Governor’s Cup.
The Governor’s Cup will feature imports no taller than 6’5’’ and fans are hyped up with big-time imports returning to banner their respective teams.
Romeo Travis, the former Magnolia Hotshots import that propelled them to their championship, is returning to defend their title.
Justin Brownlee, the Gin Kings mainstay since 2016 will be with his squad to try and bounce back from a disappointing loss to the TNT Katropa the previous conference.
Former NBA player KJ McDaniels is playing with TNT, making it their second straight conference with an ex-NBA player as reinforcement.
Also coming back is the bruising Eugene Phelps who will suit up for the Phoenix Fuel Masters, a team he helped reach the playoffs since becoming their import.
Two-time best import of the conference Allen “The Bull” Durham is also coming home to the Meralco Bolts, reaching the finals last year but came up short against Ginebra.
One of the most celebrated imports of the PBA, Marqus Blakely is also making his return, but this time for the Blackwater Elite. Blakely won several championships with the San Mig Coffee Mixers after becoming their franchise import.
Expect an action-packed Governor’s Cup.
