SAN JOSE, Antique – A government hospital in the province of Antique recently got funding support from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) which will be used to cover medical expenses.
In a press statement from the Provincial Information Office, PCSO-Antique OIC William Centina, Jr. said that the endowment fund worth P3 million will benefit charity patients who are being confined and receiving outpatient management in Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital (ASMGH) for a period of one year upon the release of the check.
“Makabulig ini sa ila, like, subong nga sa pandemic kita, ang hospitalization tama ka bahol kag hindi tanan makaya makabayad sang hospitalization nila. So, this is a big help para sa mga patients, especially, those nga mga indigent patients and mga poor nga di ka afford sang hospitalization (The support fund could help them now that we are experiencing pandemic. Hospitalization entails a huge amount and not all could afford it. So, this is a big help to our patients, especially the poor who can barely pay for hospitalization fees),” Centina said.
Among those medical expenses covered in the endowment fund include diagnostic examination, drugs and medicine, medical supplies, ventilator support, blood, blood typing and screening tests of the charity patients in ASMGH.
A medical social worker will assess the patients in terms of their eligibility to apply for the assistance.
For his part, Centina encouraged Antiqueños to support PCSO-related products that generate revenues, which in turn, help fund health programs and services of the provincial government.
Meanwhile, Gov. Rhodora Cadiao expressed her gratitude to PCSO for the assistance which meant a huge help especially to the indigent families. (PIA)
