BACOLOD City – The PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG)-6 arrested two persons and seized P639,000 worth of suspected shabu in simultaneous buy-bust operations in Barangay Villamonte here yesterday.
Rafael Martir, 43, of the said village was apprehended for the confiscation of 64 grams of suspected shabu worth P435,000, P11,000 boodle money, and P1,000.
Police Major Ritchie Gohee, head of Police Station 4, said PDEG operatives monitored Martir and launched the operation against him.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) tagged Martir as an alleged high value individual.
Also arrested was Janice Palo, 36, of the said village after she allegedly yielded 30 grams of suspected shabu worth P204,000; the P1,000 marked money, and P11,000 boodle or fake bills.
According to the BCPO, Palo is listed as one of the most wanted drug personalities of Police Regional Office (PRO)-6.
Gohee said Palo reportedly replaced her sibling in the alleged illegal drug trade after the latter was previously jailed for a drug offense.
“Gina saway man na siya sa barangay,” he added. He, however, said that Palo is not part of their drugs list.
The buy-bust operations were conducted in coordination with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Negros Occidental drug operation team, and Police Station 4.
Drug charges are being readied against the two suspects who are detained at Police Station 4.
Meanwhile, Martir and Palo have yet to comment on the allegations against them.
