The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Architecture announced that a total of 3,037 out of 4,766 examinees nationwide, or 63.74%, passed in the June 2022 Architect Licensure Examination given in 15 testing centers nationwide.
Marianne Kaye Ledesma Ofianga of Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) ranked number 1 in the said examination for Architects.
High performing higher education institution (HEI) in the Region with 10 or more examinees and at least 70% passing percentage are Capiz State University (CAPSU) and Aklan State University-Kalibo Campus (ASU-Kalibo). Two (2) schools in Western Visayas out of 6, or 33.3%, performed high or with a passing percentage higher than that of the national level. The Region produced 166 passers out of 297 takers, or 55.89% passing percentage. There were 228 first takers and 69 repeaters from the Region who took the said examination.
An Architect is the one who plans, designs and oversees the construction or alteration of buildings and building environments. The Bachelor of Science in Architecture is a five-year program offered by four (4) state universities and two (2) private higher education institutions in Western Visayas.
In May 2022 the PRC Board of Accountancy announced that a total of 990 out of 4,442 examinees nationwide, or 22.29%, passed in the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination given in fifteen (15) testing centers nationwide.
Nine (9) schools in Western Visayas out of 19, or 47.4%, performed high or with a passing percentage higher than that of the national average. The Region produced 40 passers out of 119 or 33.61% passing percentage. There were 41 first takers and 31 repeaters from the Region who took the said examination. The first takers passing percentage is 21.95%. The repeaters’ passing percentage is 39.74%.
An Accountant is a professional who performs accounting functions including account analysis, auditing, or financial statement analysis. Accountants work in private accounting firms or in national or local government agencies. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is one of the professionals in demand in the country today.
On the other hand, the PRC released the results of June 2022 Philippine Nurse Licensure Examinations (NLE) given in 15 testing centers all over the Philippines.
Six thousand six hundred sixteen (6,616) out of 9,713 or 68.11% passed. One thousand five hundred fourteen (1,514) of these are first takers, while 5,102 are repeaters.
Merry Mae Dapilo Cabale of University of San Agustin (USA) ranked number 10 in the said examination for Nurses. The Western Visayas Region performed high, or with passing percentage higher than that of the national average.
Twelve (12) out of 21 HEIs in the Region or 57% are high performing. High performing HEIs in the Region, with 10 or more examinees and at least 80% passing percentage are University of San Agustin (93.1%), Central Philippine University (87.10%) and Iloilo Doctors College (85.71%).
Two hundred ninety-six (296) out of 403 examinees in the Region, or 73.45%, passed in the said examination for nurses. There were 64 first takers and 339 repeaters from the Region who took the said examination. Eighty seven percent (87%) of the first takers passed while 70.8% of the repeaters passed. Eighty four percent (84%) of the examinees were repeaters.
Nurses are graduates of the four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Generally, they are trained to provide safe, humane, quality and holistic care to individuals. There are 22 higher education institutions offering BS Nursing in the Western Visayas Region.
