Phoenix Super LPG just fired their chief tactician, head coach Louie Alas.

In a public statement released by the team through their social media accounts, the team confirmed that Alas is no longer their head coach and associate Topex Robinson will take over the job in the interim.

Despite making Phoenix a consistent playoff team since arriving in 2017, the Super LPG team will be bidding goodbye to one of the most decorated coaches in PH basketball.

“After much deliberation, management has decided to discontinue Mr. Louie Alas’ services as head coach,” Phoenix stated in a statement posted on their social media accounts.

Creating a core led by PBA superstar Calvin Abueva and Gilas Pilipinas sniper Matthew Wright, Alas instilled an organized offensive flow for the team that was even applauded by the other coaches in the league.

Previously, the Phoenix management suspended Alas for breaking the team’s health protocol regarding the PBA’s resumption of practice.

Although no official reports have been made, some have speculated that the relationship of Alas with the management has soured over time which ultimately led to his firing.
