A Filipino once again brought pride to the country during the 2020 Jr. NBA Global Championship boys division virtual challenge.
Bien Quirimit, a De la Salle Zobel stalwart, perfected his hand and eye coordination to defeat Frankie of the US Mid-Atlantic region in the final round.
The competition is based in the HomeCourt application, an app that focuses on honing your dribbling, handling, and reflexes drill.
Competitors will have to garner as many points as they can in a given time while competing in HomeCourt’s built-in screen obstacles.
Aside from the various colored circles with specific points, basic consistent dribbles will also have points, including continuous and fast dribbling which registers 1 point for every bounce.
In the final round, Quirimit scored an astounding 844 points from a series of insane combinations including several two hand circle taps followed by a quick recovery to his speed dribble.
The Asia-Pacific finalist hails from Bacoor, Cavite and is the only De la Salle Zobel standout who qualified for the final round out of nine participants.
