PNP-AVSEGROUP brings gift to indigent families

Instead of holding the traditional Christmas party, the Iloilo Airport Police Station based at the Iloilo International Airport in Cabatuan, Iloilo reached out to poor families of Brgy. Gaub, Cabatuan, Iloilo on Dec. 14, 2021.

Police Lt. Col. Peter B. Madria, Aviation Security Unit-6 regional chief, said the activity was simultaneously conducted by all police units under the PNP Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP).

Madria said that through the activity, which was a brainchild of PNP AVSEGROUP Director Police Brigadier Gen. Ysmael S. Yu, they were able to celebrate Christmas in a more meaningful way by reaching out to indigent families who are reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We pooled our funds and bought gifts for our neighbors in Gaub whom we also consider our constituents and clients,” he added.

Major Ismael Gandarosa, Iloilo Airport Police Station chief, said they are thankful to the residents of Gaub and Cabatuan in general for cooperating with the PNP AVSEGROUP in maintaining peace and order in the airport which is a vital installation in the region.

Gandarosa also thanked MBarn Café of Mr. Matthew Mana-ay and his wife, Anilao, Iloilo Sangguniang Bayan Member Karen Antiojo Mana-ay, for hosting the activity.
