After the International Volleyball Federation’s (FIVB) notice to the Philippine volleyball to create a legitimate National Sports Association (NSA), the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) held a meeting to appoint the much-needed official.
Presided by POC chief Rep. Bambol Tolentino, the voting of the interim president for the soon-to-be-formed NSA for volleyball resulted in a Ramon “Tats” Suzara win.
Suzara, together with Sports Vision Management Group President Ricky Palou and Beach Volleyball Republic founder Charo Soriano were eyed to be the winners of the presidency.
However, the Asian Volleyball Confederation development and marketing official Suzara emerged victorious and will be the president of the unified volleyball association as per FIVB’s request.
“Volleyball is already unified at last and the true winner here is Philippine volleyball,” president Tolentino said.
Volleyball stakeholders from all over the Philippines and POC officials were present during the meeting held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
Also present during the meeting were LVPI secretary-general Ariel Paredes, PVF secretary-general Rustico “Otie” Camangian, and Palou and Tony Boy Liao of Sports Vision.
