Police clueless on bizman’s slay

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police remain clueless on the motive and identities of the two suspects who shot dead a businessman Tuesday noon inside a store at Rooseville Heights, Barangay XI here.

The victim was identified as Raymond John Genoves of Barangay San Jose, Roxas City and temporarily residing in an apartment in the said place.

Investigation by the Roxas City police indicated that Genoves was buying cigarette in a store and was about to proceed to his apartment when two unidentified suspects on a motorcycle shot him.

Before the incident happened, Genoves asked permission from his live-in partner to meet his friend Allen in Brgy. Loctugan here.

The live-in partner was surprised when she learned about the victim’s shooting.

Genoves succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head and other parts of the body.

The victim was engaged in buy and sell of beauty products, among others.

It was learned that Genoves was charged for an offense but it was already dismissed by the court.

Police recovered from the victim’s pocket a lighter, cigarette and P500 cash.

An inspection of his car led to the discovery of a sachet of still undetermined substance, an empty plastic sachet, a Rolex watch, and a cellphone.
