
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson joined the inauguration and blessing of the Cement Bamboo Frame House Project, Luis Jalandoni village in Brgy. Ayungon, La Carlota City, over the weekend.
The project was realized through the partnership of Megaworld Corporation and Habitat Humanity Philippines, in collaboration with the La Carlota local government.
La Carlota Mayor Rex Jalando-on, Habitat for Humanity Philippines CEO Mardi Mapa-Suplido, Hilti Foundation- Asia Liaison Maricen Jalandoni, and Megaworld FVP Jennifer Palmares Fong were present in the activity.
241 Cement Bamboo Frame Houses will be constructed in the village as part of the Negros Occidental Impact 2025 Housing Project.
The beneficiaries are from barangays 1, 2, 3, Ayungon, Cubay and Batuan.
Gov. Lacson lauded Habitat for Humanity and the La Carlota City government for the latest development in the city and for the dynamic leadership of the LGU officials.
“With this initiative, we will be more capable of providing enough treated bamboo to aid and abet the housing needs of the province, in addition to bamboo’s environmental benefits and role in aiding the water security of the province,” he said.
