The Creamline Cool Smashers re-entered the winning column of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference after man-handling Capital1, 25-18, 25-14, 25-15, on March 21, 2024, at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
Days after snapping its 19-game PVL winning streak against the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, the reigning queens of the PVL put all their frustrations on Capital1 to rack their fifth win of the All-Filipino Conference.
Capital1 still managed to inch close and keep themselves within striking distance in the first set after capitalizing on several Creamline unforced errors.
However, during the final six possessions of the frame, the veteran experience of the Cool Smashers rose to the occasion and propelled them to an early 1-0 lead.
Things then started to fall into place for Creamline as they completely neutralized Capital1 in the final two sets, pummeling them with their signature offensive set plays while also covering their area defensively.
Tots Carlos hardly broke a sweat against Capital1 and led the Cool Smashers with 14 points derived from 12 successful attacks.
Aside from her scoring efficiency, the former UP Fighting Maroons standout also tallied six excellent receptions and five excellent digs.
Backstopping Carlos during Creamline’s rebound win was the trio of Bernadeth Pons, Alyssa Valdez, and Jema Galanza who each scored five markers.
“Syempre, yung win ngayon kahit papaano naka-recover kami sa last loss namin pero ang importante naman eh makapaglaro kami ng maayos tsaka ma-improve every game para pagdating sa dulo ng mga games maganda yung ilaro namin. Thankful kami nanalo kami ngayon,” said Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses after the win.
