With the country still reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Premier Volleyball League management thoroughly discussed the best timeline for the year.

Part of the discussion is to hold the PVL Open Conference first rather than the usual season-opening Reinforced Conference.

PVL president Ricky Palou explained that the current COVID-19 crisis will make it hard for visiting imports to back up their respective teams, adding that their countries might still impose travel restrictions.

Also, president Palou said that he is concerned with the team’s process of sending in their respective imports for the Reinforced conference.

The process will be harder because the teams will have to consider their imports’ health amid the ongoing pandemic.

So to avoid the risks and a lot of things to be considered, the PVL management is aiming to start the season with an All-Filipino conference.

“With the current situation, baka ‘yung mga foreign players mag-hesitate pumunta rito and baka mahirapan na ang mga teams na makakuha ng imports,” president Palou said.
