Former Far Eastern University (FEU) libero Maxine Juangco is turning professional and will boost the Akari Power Chargers in the upcoming season of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) announced last February 5, 2024.

Juangco will be taking over Justine Jazareno’s spot in Akari’s roster after VP Global Management confirmed that the ex-DLSU star will be taking a temporary leave of absence from the PVL due to pregnancy.

Now, all eyes will be on Juangco who is expected to deliver right away when the PVL 2024 season kicks off later this month.

“Power up to the max! Bravely charging into the pros is the talented libero from Far Eastern University, Maxine Juangco! wrote Akari during their official announcement.

Juangco was a vital piece to the UAAP Season 85 campaign of the FEU Lady Tamaraws where she helped her squad finish a 6-8 win-loss record.

Her defensive prowess and nose for the ball became a big part of their improvement from their disappointing UAAP Season 84 run where they finished last in the team standings.

Midway through the season, Juangco ramped her dig numbers up, helping FEU in nearly clinching a Final Four spot while finishing third in the Best Libero category.

Juangco will be teaming up with veteran libero Bang Pineda and will be taking turns with her for Akari’s libero position.

“Her MAXimum effort on the defensive end will elevate the Akari Chargers to another level this season. Welcome to Chargers ground, Max,” added Akari.
