The PLDT High-Speed Hitters snatched one of the biggest names in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) free agency list confirmed last January 7, 2024.

Kim Kianna Dy, welcome to your new home.

Months after the disbandment of their mother franchise F2 Logistics Cargo Movers from the PVL, the superstar outside hitter was yet to find a new team during the ongoing off-season.

Following the contract signing of her former teammates Majoy Baron and Kim Fajardo with PLDT, Dy became the latest pick-up by the High-Speed Hitters for the upcoming 2024 PVL season.

Despite not suiting up for the Cargo Movers during the recently concluded All-Filipino Conference due to an injury, the former De La Salle University (DLSU) star and national team staple is ready to go once the first conference of the PVL kicks off this February.

Known for her steady scoring and versatility on the defensive end in the middle, Dy’s addition to the High-Speed Hitters only made things interesting for the title race in the first conference this year.

With Dy’s presence in PLDT, the squad just got more scoring options together with Savannah Davison, Honey Rose Tubino, Jules Samonte, and Erika Mae Santos.

Although Dy will be playing in a new system under the High-Speed Hitters, the veteran offensive star is ready to learn and adapt to what head coach Rald Ricafort deploys this year.

“Knowing that there’s still so much to learn inspires me to thrive and work harder. It’s going to take a lot of hard work but I hope we can give what’s expected of us here in PLDT,” said Dy.

Dy led the Cargo Movers to a semifinal finish last conference and is already a seasoned player due to her multiple championships during their reign at the Philippine Superliga.

Although Dy and F2 Logistics failed to make a single grand finals trip since moving to the PVL, the Cargo Movers were always considered one of the top-tier teams in every conference.

Dy will now reunite with her former DLSU teammate Mika Reyes in PLDT and will seek to lead the team to a championship title this year.
