Kevin Quiambao showed why he is the leading candidate for this season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award after displaying another masterpiece outing during DLSU Green Archers’ 88-78 victory over the NU Bulldogs last October 28, 2023, in the ongoing UAAP men’s basketball tournament.

Quiambao flexed on the Bulldogs and finished the much-needed victory with an insane triple-double stat line of 17 points, 14 assists, and 11 rebounds.

Aside from his all-around efficiency, the superstar point-forward also snatched four steals and was named as the Best Player of the Game.

From the get-go, it was Quiambao who took charge and set the tone for the Green Archers after setting up his teammates with his pin-point passing.

After feeding his squad, Quiambao took over in the scoring department and made it rain from the three-point line including his signature one-handed floater from the baseline.

Quiambao’s prowess sparked the Green Archers to an early double-digit lead but the Bulldogs were able to chip away the deficit after mounting a scoring run at the end of the second period.

Just when NU thought they could replicate their second-half surge on the Green Archers in their first-round encounter, DLSU turned on the jets on to secure the momentum until the final buzzer sounded.

Backstopping Quiambao was veteran floor general Evan Nelle who dropped 14 points and seven dimes while Mark Nonoy chipped in 10 markers.

With the win, the Green Archers finally got their revenge on the Bulldogs while snapping their five-game winning streak.

DLSU will have the chance to extend their winning streak to four as they set up another redemption tour against the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons on November 5, 2023.
