Reelected Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas called for unity as he assumed his second term on June 30, 2022.
Dadivas, who won the May 9, 2022 elections with 65,127 ballots, took his oath before his partymate and newly-elected Governor Fredenil “Oto” Castro.
Also taking oath were Vice Mayor Inday Teresa Almalbis and City Councilors Pip Acepcion, Jaime Altavas, JP Arcenas, Atty. Paul Baticados, Rey Magallanes, Atty. Gary Potato, Herbert Koks Chu and Bordz Viterbo.
In his inaugural message, Dadivas assured that he will continue the social services his administration began.
Dadivas said he will continue the free rice allowance program dubbed “Bugas para sa taga-Roxas.”
He also assured decent housing for Roxas City residents who have been reeling from calamities.
On security, he vowed to install more lights on city streets. He also vowed better and faster access to medical services.
“My Roxas City Family, as the father of our city, be assured that we will continue caring and looking after you in the next three years to the best of my abilities. We will propel Roxas City and Capiz to greater heights because we are united,” he said.
He also extended his gratitude to former secretary Mar Roxas and Judy Araneta Roxas for helping him and the city, especially during the pandemic.
Majority of the winning candidates in Capiz and Roxas City belong to the Liberal Party which Roxas leads.
Also present in the oathtaking were Representatives Emmanuel Tawe Billones (Capiz first district), and Jane Castro (Capiz second district), other local officials, private sector, religious groups, media, national and local government agencies and civic organizations.
