After nearly a decade of evading arrest, the most wanted man in Western Visayas was finally captured.

Alias Raymund, 35, of Zone 2, Barangay San Juan, Molo, Iloilo City, was arrested in Barangay Model, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, on April 13.

The arrest was carried out by members of the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company, in coordination with the Puerto Princesa City Police Station 1, Iloilo City Police Station 4, Iloilo City Police Office–City Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) 6–CIT Iloilo, and the 62nd PNP Special Action Force.

Raymund, who had been temporarily residing in Barangay Rio Tuba, Bataraza, Palawan, was wanted for murder under Criminal Case No. 16-77084.

The arrest warrant was issued on May 17, 2022, by Judge Regina Centenera Galang-Guarin of Regional Trial Court Branch 30 in Iloilo City.

No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

Raymund and his brother Louie were accused of killing 19-year-old Noel Martinez in August 2015 in Barangay San Juan, Molo.

They were initially charged along with 16-year-old Sanie.

Reports stated that Sanie allegedly stabbed Martinez, a resident of Barangay Tanza Esperanza in the City Proper district, while the victim was seated on his motorcycle.

As Martinez attempted to flee, Louie allegedly shot him.

When the victim collapsed, Raymund allegedly took the firearm from Louie and shot Martinez again.

The suspects fled the scene after the incident.

Raymund is now in police custody and will be turned over to the court of jurisdiction.
